- Licensed through the Colorado Division of Behavioral Health - Detox clients are currently not charged for assessment, treatment and referrals 2721 East Las Vegas Street Colorado Springs, CO 80906 Available 24 hours/day (719) 390-2046 (719) 390-2047 Mission The mission of the El Paso County Community Detoxification Facility is to provide a safe and effective continuum of care for citizens in need of substance abuse and addiction treatment services in El Paso County. Through a collaborative approach, assessment, safe detoxification, and encouragement for treatment are emphasized. Goals Provide a safe and effective means for detoxification treatment Maintain a fiscally responsible collaborative partnership for ongoing treatment services Reduce the nature of chronic substance abuse through effective care and treatment Reduce the impact on emergency service providers by offering an appropriate alternative for care and treatment Services Provided A warm, dry, safe place for persons under the influence of alcohol/drugs to detox safely Three meals a day, warm showers, and clean/dry clothes Resources for treatment but does not force individuals to get treatment Physical and Mental Health Assessments Who is Eligible? Individuals may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs Individuals may be in active withdrawals Individuals must be able to move on their own without assistance from another (wheelchairs and canes are accepted if the person can maneuver independently) Individuals may not be oxygen dependent Individuals must have control of their bladder and bowel functions Important Information Detox will NOT check individuals for warrants or criminal history Detox will accept individuals who are homeless Detox will accept individuals who do not have health insurance Detox is located in the Criminal Justice Center (jail) complex but is NOT a part of the El Paso County Jail Individuals must be at least 18 years of age to be accepted into Detox Violence and/or possession of weapons will NOT be tolerated in Detox Visitation is allowed through the Video Visitation Center (building is across from Detox, located at 2727 E. Las Vegas St.) from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., closed daily between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. For additional information on visitation, please call 719-390-2373
